Custom houses can be designed by yourself or prebuilt houses can be placed with prebuilt designs, these are known as 'classic houses'.

Everything inside of the homes are safe from other players through the use of the permissions system that can be set on almost every item or container of items within the housing plot. Houses can be placed in valid locations or purchased from other players with the transferring trade window where blessed bank checks can be securely traded.
